Please refer to the chart to determine the number of bags you can check for free, as well as the maximum weight and size for each checked bag to avoid an oversized and/or overweight baggage fee. If you are part of multiple groups in the chart, the greater allowance will apply.

Information below applies for passengers on flights operated by United, United Express, Continental, Continental Express, Continental Connection and Star Alliance partner carriers. Policies relating to military personnel apply for travel on flights operated by United, United Express, Continental, Continental Express and Continental Connection.

Oversized, overweight and excess baggage and special items
Even if you are exempt from some baggage fees, you may be subject to other fees if your baggage exceeds certain size and/or weight restrictions, if you are traveling with more than the allowed number of bags, or if you are traveling with pieces of baggage that qualify as “special items.”
